Shake It Up, Just Like Bad Medicine.

Atul Gawande is a Harvard professor who was invited to give a series of Reith lectures in 2014.

We recently stumbled across them and can’t help but think what an astonishing 21st Century thinker Professor Gawande is.

An expert in his field, he challenges received wisdom and medical practice by the bucket-load.

We were particularly taken with his suggestion that collected medical knowledge in the 21st Century is so great that it exceeds individual capabilities, and so requires the design of sophisticated systems in order to maximise and leverage that knowledge, and minimise problems.

He is well worth a listen.
